Plastic is a universal material. Its properties vary from household polymer structures to very rigid high-tech products. Effective grinding requires a lot of experience and know-how.

Our shredders are suitable for shredding both classic plastic waste (such as ingots, boxes, pallets, pipes, containers, canisters, molded parts, PET bottles or packaging) and for shredding particularly tear-resistant materials (such as rubber, film, fibers, aramid, kevlar or carbon).

The circular economy starts with us

Ecopolymer plastic shredders are extremely flexible – we individually select different types of rotors, rotor geometries and cutting tools. Thanks to this, they can grind a wide range of thermoplastics such as PE, PP, PVC, PS, PU and PET, as well as various thermoplastics and elastomers.

Even large volumetric hollow bodies, long pipes and profiles, massive springs (ingots) and other production waste, as well as PET bottles, textile fibers, foil, insulating materials, floor coverings, boxes and containers – all this is easily handled by industrial Ecopolymer shredders, thanks to our many years of experience in the field of plastics.

Direct return to the production line

Plastic waste generated during production is becoming more and more valuable. As a secondary raw material, it can be returned directly to the production cycle. The first step in this process is the shredding of production waste, such as scrap or scrap parts. Ecopolymer works closely with customers to find the right solution for a wide variety of plastics. In this way, we guarantee that even materials that are difficult to process will be ground into high-quality regrind.

Post-consumer plastic recycling

Post-consumer waste is plastic waste from private use. This includes packaging such as yogurt pots, PET bottles, bags, films, containers, tubes, as well as toys, labels, fibers and textiles. In connection with the increase in global consumption, the amount of plastic waste is also increasing. Instead of dumping it into our oceans or landfills, Ecopolymer shredders help promote alternative solutions. Together with our partners, we develop single- and multi-stage processing concepts to optimize the life cycle of plastics in the long term.

Recycling or recycling? It’s in your hands

Both concepts have the same goal: to extend the life cycle of plastic. During recycling, plastic waste is usually crushed and re-granulated by extrusion, e.g. make a new PET bottle from an old PET bottle. On the other hand, during plastic recycling, an attempt is made to give the supposedly useless plastic a new, better meaning, either alone or in combination with others, e.g. bags made of packing threads.

What is design for recycling?

To ensure the recyclability of plastic products, recycling or recycling must be considered before production begins. The term Design for Recycling (D4R) or design for recycling refers to the holistic concept and design of products that can be optimally returned to the recycling cycle after use. In this context, the plastics in the products must be combined in such a way that a clear separation of the different types at the end of their life is possible. This is the only way to keep waste streams clean and ensure that they can be recycled and therefore reused as secondary raw materials.

For example, a Ukrainian manufacturer of cleaning products fills detergents in environmentally friendly refill bags. They are made of 100 percent polyethylene (PE) and contain neither glues nor binders. The printed strip can be separated from the packaging, making the package 100 percent recyclable. Another feature is that the packaging is made entirely of recycled plastic.
